“There was a scholar of the law who stood
up to test him and said, ‘Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?’
Jesus said to him, ‘What is written in the law? How do you read it?’ He said
in reply, ‘You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all
your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor
as yourself.’ He replied to him, ‘You have answered correctly; do this and
you will live.’” (Luke 10:25-28)
Saint Philip’s Lazarus Ministry affords members of the
community to put into concrete action Jesus’ teaching and our Christian
belief in serving the poor. Weekly, on Thursday evenings, the Lazarus
Ministry participants prepare and serve dinner to the local homeless and
working poor of our area. This crucial ministry is a reality of Christian
love and dedication in our community through the continuous work and support
of our parishioners as well as the generous financial support of our Eparch,
Archbishop Cyrille Bustros.
Our Lazarus Ministry Schedule is: Thursdays, 4:00PM (preparation) and 5:00PM (serving dinner) Come and be part of this vital
and beautiful ministry! You’ll be glad you did! For further information about
the Lazarus Ministry, contact: Fr. Justin Rose, Lazarus Ministry Coordinator
